“How I feel about myself is more important than how I look. Feeling confident, being comfortable in your skin – that’s what really makes you beautiful.”

B.Brown

I.Ce tip de ten ai?

USCATA

Pori mici, piele subtire, fina, usor iritabila

Pielea nu prezinta elasticitate si rezistenta

Lipseste stratul protector de sebum

Lipsita de stralucire

Senzatia ca te tine dupa curatare

GRASA

Textura lucioasa cu pori dilatati

Predispusa la acnee

Pielea prezinta comedoane

COMBINATA

Zona T (frunte, nas, barbie) grasa

Obraji uscati

NORMALA

Se intalneste destul de rar

Textura mata, catifelata

Pori mici, netezi

Se mentine echilibrul dintre grasimi si

umiditatea pielii

  1. Foloseste protectie solara indiferent de sezon;
  1. Incearca produse pe baza de retinol care stimuleaza producerea de colagen, pentru ca pielea sa arate mai neteda si ferma;
  1. Foloseste antioxidanti atat in produsele de ingrijire, cat si ca suplimente;
  1. Hidrateaza tenul pe timpul noptii: pielea absoarbe mai bine crema pe parcursul noptii;

Gorgeous Skin (EN)

How I feel about myself is more important than how I look. Feeling confident, being comfortable in your skin – that’s what really makes you beautiful.”

B.Brown

It’s true, the most important thing is how you feel as a woman, the trust you have and the message you send through every pore. But I believe that a healthy, radiant skin is always essential for natural beauty. And since it doesn’t come for free, and it must be won through daily care rituals and a healthy lifestyle, I thought that in this article I should tell you a little bit about everything related to skincare.

Studies have shown that the way we take care of our skin when we’re 20 and 30 years old represents a decisive factor in how it will look over the years.

  1. What is your skin type?

First of all, it’s essential to know what type of skin we have. Even the most wonderful products will fail to work if they are not intended for your skin type.

SKIN TYPE  CHARACTERISTICS

DRY

Small pores, thin, smooth, easily irritable skin

The skin shows no elasticity and resistance

The protective layer of sebum is missing

Dull

An astringent sensation after cleaning the skin

OILY

Oily texture with dilated pores

Acne-prone

The skin shows comedones

MIXED

The T area (forehead, nose, chin) is oily

Dry cheeks

NORMAL

It’s pretty rare

Matte, smooth texture

Small, smooth pores

It maintains the balance between skin oil and moisture

I am the happy owner of a normal skin with a drying (dehydration) tendency, and I am saying happy not from lack of modesty, but because it’s time to be grateful for those positive things that nature gave me. I have never faced serious skin problems, only small periods of time when it didn’t look as it should have or I was bothered by a zit. It is also true that I’ve always tried to show my skin enough attention and ‘respect’. No matter how tired I am or how sick I feel, I never go to sleep before removing my makeup and brushing my teeth. 😀 I’ve had some attempts over the years, but I failed because every time I felt so guilty that I got out of bed and fulfilled my duty… so let’s move on.

  1. The steps of the daily care ritual

Regardless of the skin type, the daily care ritual includes the same steps, recommended twice a day, in the morning and in the evening:

  1. Makeup removal / cleansing: for some time now I really like the biphasic eye cleanser from Nivea. I have tried other products with a similar formula, but so far this is my favorite, if we also take into account the price / quality ratio. It effectively and delicately cleans the sensitive area around the eyes without having to insist, which I like a lot. As you probably know, this area is the most sensitive and it requires more special care than the rest of the face, especially since this is where the first wrinkles appear. The second product that I use for the rest of the face is micellar water. Lately I have been using the one from Avene, but I also like the one from Bioderma. Once every two days I like to clean my skin more carefully and, since recently, I am using Sensibio Gel Moussant from Bioderma (moisturizing and soothing foaming gel).
  1. Toning: Caudalie Beauty Elixir is my favourite at the moment. I use it both as a tonic on clean skin, and as a makeup fixer over the foundation.
  1. Moisturizing: I have made a habit of using the Paese serum with hyaluronic acid both for moisturizing and as a base before using foundation. I’ve also recently started using the moisturizing fluid from Nashi Argan, with argan oil, hyaluronic acid and amaranth oil. I’ll be back in another post with more details about the Nashi Argan products.

I won’t go into too many details about brands and products, because I believe it’s important for each one of us to find the right products for their skin type, depending on particular needs. For now, I am just mentioning the products that I currently use.

III. Exfoliation and masks

Once a week, or twice at most (when necessary), we can talk about a more thorough skin care, when we can use an exfoliant and/or a mask.

For exfoliation, it’s good to know that not all scrubs were created equal and it’s important to find the formula that’s right for you. What is exfoliation good for? It removes the layer of dead skin cells, thus restoring skin glow, smoothing skin surface and reducing fine lines.

I have the habit of giving myself more time for pampering once a week. And one of the rituals includes exfoliating the skin and applying a mask. Depending on my mood, I either prepare my own products (homemade scrubs and masks) or turn to store bought ones.

I currently have two favorite scrubs: the one with berries from the Herbalife Skin line and, as of recently, Nashi Argan gentle scrub, and when it comes to masks, I use the ones from Caudalie.

  1. Fighting aging while you’re still young

As I was saying at the beginning of the article, it’s very important how we take care of our skin when we’re young. Here’s what we can do to keep our skin young for as long as possible:

  1. Use sunscreen, regardless of the season;
  1. Try retinol based products, which stimulate the production of collagen, so that the skin looks smoother and firmer;
  1. Use antioxidants both in beauty care products and as supplements;
  1. Moisturize the skin during the night: the cream is better absorbed by skin during nighttime;
  1. Take care of the eye area: the skin around the eyes is the thinnest and least oily, which is why it’s the first one to show signs of aging.
  1. Be careful with what you eat, what you drink, how much sleep you’re getting and how much you’re worrying!!!

It’s the most important part of the article, which is why I saved it for last… maybe this way it will remain better etched in the memory of those reading this. I strongly believe that we are the owners of a real machine, our body. It’s more powerful than any machine built by man and as long as we provide it with quality fuel (rest, food), it will pay off. It is also true that we live in an increasingly alert world, that although we have more than we need, we have a rather hard time finding quality products (food is an example), and time is running faster and faster and it seems like it’s not enough for us to manage everything we want. But I think we must try to find a balance, to find our own pace, to set some goals and do our best to reach them. And these goals should be for us, for our proper functioning. Because what we give our body will be easily seen on our skin, in our weight and in the way we feel.

I hope you weren’t bored by all these details, but I’ve wanted to write about these issues for a long time, because I’m meeting more and more people who are more or less influenced by what they see on social media, in pictures, and who think that by coming to a makeup artist all their problems will be fixed with a thicker layer of foundation or some miracle product. Unfortunately, or fortunately, nothing makes us more beautiful than the way we take care of ourselves every day. Makeup is meant to highlight the most beautiful things that nature gave us.

Love,

AlexandraB
